The Notebook, Two Shot

Two Shot.

This GIF, taken from the film 'The Notebook, is an example of a close up two shot.  The close up of the two people shows the extreme emotion and love that both of the people feel for each other. It intensifies the passion between the two. The camera angle purposely make the audience feel as though they are spying on the couple which makes the shot even more intense, the camera is angled slightly upwards giving the two people more authority and makes it look like they are more important than the audience (It makes the audience feel small and inferior). In the shot the woman looks as though she is higher than the man making it seem that she is in control, and it looks as though she isn't holding onto the man. This suggests that she is the one that is domineering in this situation. As well as this the woman is wearing a bright coloured dress that draws the eye to it, this makes it seem that she is the most important person. The fact that both of the people are wet through suggests that the moment was that intense and important there was no time to change (it was an 'in the moment' thing). This all adds  to the tension and the intensity of the moment.
